tamoxifen is used to lower estrogen levels as a breast cancer preventive action againt developing (in women at high risk) and also to treat breast cancer. It must be prescribed by a doctor. It does not cause uterine cancer. I listed a website below you can read. If you or a family member or friend is on tamoxifen and unsure of anything, you should call your doctor and get clear answers.

The ovarian and uterine cancer – doctors please?

PurrfectPeach13232 Question : ovarian and uterine cancer – doctors please
In what age group they usually occur? The reason I ask is that if they usually occur in postmenopausal women, would there be a point in preventive hysterectomy, or to risk of surgery outweigh the benefits possibles.S-Please forgive my terrible punctuation, I pressé.Désolé. I meant the standard preventive hysterectomies, regardless of risk, if the parties involved are not to do anything useful after the menopause – they do? Best answer:

I’m not really following you as a preventive hysterectomy would be recommended if you have a very high risk for one of these cancers and it would be very unusual for be at high risk for both. But to answer your question, the peak incidence for both are aged 55-65.
